Please complete an application by September 5, 2003 to enter one of the following levels of HU-LINC sponsored program of  professional development.  Upon acceptance of your application, you will be given instructions on how to register for one of the following e-TRAIN courses:

  • HU0027 - Initial Level for teachers of above content areas that have not completed a previous year’s training in this program.

  • HU0028 - Advanced Level for teachers who have completed a calendar year of HU-LINC secondary integrated training at the initial level, and desire to improve content expertise and classroom implementation of their prior technology-based training.

  • HU0029 - C3 Coach Program for teachers who have attended at least 100 hours of HU-LINC training in this integrated program, and wish to become teacher-facilitators and trainers for other high school teachers, and serve as leaders in 6th-12th grade vertical training.

Teachers are encouraged to attend training with a campus partner from other content specialty to create a math-science pair for improved campus-based implementation of skills and processes learned.  HU-LINC has space for 40 Initial Level teachers, 20 Advanced Level teachers, and 16 C3 Coaches.

All three programs are a full calendar year in length, with 60 – 100 hours of training for each level.  The specific course details are listed on e-TRAIN.  All teachers will have the opportunity to earn from $650 - $1000 in stipends based upon amount of time spent in after-school and summer training sessions.  Teachers will also earn technology equipment for their classroom use, based upon the nature and duration of their training.  Technology tools available consist of TI-83+SE calculators, CBL2, CBR, and assorted Vernier probes/sensors.  These tools are valued at $35 - $200+ per item, for a total of $2500 for an Initial Level teacher, and up to $600 for the advanced and C3 Coach levels who have already received approximately $2500 of materials in prior years’ training.

Applications must be submitted to the HU-LINC office (FAX 713-892-7126)
